Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute procurement plans to maintain a steady supply of premium building materials at the best possible prices.
- Supplier Management: Source, assess, and cultivate strong supplier relationships. Negotiate favourable contracts and terms to maximize value.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough industry research to track trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments, ensuring well-informed purchasing decisions.
- Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels to maintain optimal inventory. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for efficient stock control.
- Cost Control: Administer procurement budgets and drive cost-efficient purchasing. Identify areas for savings and process optimization.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all procured materials meet company standards. Address quality concerns with suppliers swiftly and effectively.
- Needs Assessment: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, ensuring timely and accurate product availability.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate and deliver detailed reports on procurement operations, supplier performance, and market conditions for senior leadership.
- Team Development: Mentor and support junior buyers, fostering skill development and alignment with procurement goals.
- Process Optimization: Establish and oversee systematic reviews of product ranges and supplier performance to ensure alignment with market trends and business needs.
- Open-to-Buy Management: Monitor and control Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets, aligning purchasing decisions with financial targets and stock requirements. Coordinate with internal teams for effective OTB planning and execution.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in procurement (preferably in building supplies/construction).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the building supplies market and trends.
