METROLOGIST
Purpose:
To ensure that all products comply to government and customer specifications by random testing and that action is taken on any resulting non-conformances.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Measure of components in accordance with product audit schedules and control plans.
Conducting statistical trend analysis on measurements over time to identify changing conditions.
Calibration and reporting on MSA
Investigation of non-conformances and recommendation of corrective/preventative actions.
Issue of test results and reports.
Liaison With Other Departments On Metrology Related Issues.
Care and daily maintenance of 3D measuring equipment.
Train and Develop CMM Operators
Decision Making:
To decide if products comply to all relevant standards and stop production where necessary. Recommend engineering changes, process changes and deviations.
Additional skills / attributes:
- Data accuracy is of vital importance.
- Findings/reports must be factual.
- Must be able to prioritize duties.
- Must be able to function in a pressurized environment.
- Must be able to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation as well as customers/suppliers.
- 20/20 and colour vision an inherent requirement.
