Opportunity background
An exciting opportunity is available for a young and energetic Chartered Accountant to join our finance department who will assist in overseeing and managing the finance department who manages the personal finances of the Chairman, investments held, residential and commercial properties, and other ad-hoc venture capital opportunities in by the Tourtech Family offices.
The successful candidate will be employed as the Financial Manager, responsible for leading and developing the finance team, designing and implementing of sound risk mitigating controls to ensure the integrity of the financial information and ensuring all legal and statutory regulations is in compliance. Through this role, the candidate will be exposed to entrepreneurial environment to grow and develop their professional and business acumen through a variety of opportunities.
Job Purpose
The Financial Manager's purpose is to ensure that all statutory and legal regulations are complying to mitigate financial risk to both the businesses under administration and to meet the monthly reporting deadlines after reviewing both the balance sheet and income statement, before distributing to the Executive Management team for further comments. The Financial Manager must always lead by example to ensure all standard processes and accounting policies are consistently followed to enhance the integrity of any financial information distributed to user or such information.
Education and Experience
- SAICA / (CA) SA qualification, completed articles (1-2 years post articles)
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- SAGE Evolution experience not essential, but beneficial
- PayProp Experience not essential, but beneficial
- Property Management / Property Development experienced beneficial.
Job Responsibility
- Lead and manage the finance department and create an environment for growth and personal development for the team
- Design and implement sound financial controls to mitigate risks to compromise the integrity and accuracy of financial information
- Review the monthly management accounts (which include the balance sheet and income statement) to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial information
- Ensure monthly deadlines are being met to report the management accounts to the Executive Managers with comments to explain any significant movements / trends in the financial information
- Ensure monthly reporting of actual vs budgeted financials are complete with the comments to explain any variances noted
- Ensure the monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliation are performed and filed in the month end file
- Review of monthly VAT reconciliations and ensuring that VAT201's is submitted and filed accurately
- Ensure cashflow is optimised and managed effectively for all businesses under administration
- Review and approve payment requisitions prepared by the Creditor's Clerk
- Processing of general journals and filing journals accordingly with audit supporting documentation
- Preparing of annual statutory file audit file for each business
- Assisting and addressing any audit related queries raised to help finalise annual statutory audits
- Assist Executive Manager with completing annual budgets
- Ensure all statutory compliance documents are filed and kept up to date for each business

- Excellent time management and prioritising tasks
- Deadline driven to ensure all monthly deadlines are being met.
