We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and professional Frail Caregiver to join our care team. The ideal candidate will provide outstanding care to elderly or disabled individuals in a frail care setting. They must be capable of maintaining a secure and comforting environment for our patients, ensuring their needs are met and promoting their independence wherever possible.
Requirements
- (NQF 3) National Certificate in Home Based Personal Care or Ancillary Healthcare
- Registered Caregiver with Department of Social Development
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a caregiving role, preferably in a frail care setting.
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures and use of medical equipment.
- Understanding and respect for the needs and rights of elderly and disabled individuals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, such as lifting and moving patients.
- Ability to adhere to ethical codes, regulations, and guidelines.
- Valid drivers license may be beneficial.
- Fluency in English and at least one local language.
- Assist patients with daily activities such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patients health condition and report to healthcare professionals when necessary.
- Administer medication according to prescribed routines, ensuring correct dosages and times.
- Facilitate social and recreational activities to improve patients quality of life.
- Accompany patients to medical appointments and other errands as necessary.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Respond to emergencies promptly and follow protocol to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state regulations and laws.
- Develop relationships with patients, their families, and other healthcare providers to support patient care.
