Key responsibilities, amongst others, will include:
- Management of external Logistics service provider.
- Management and reconciliation of manual processes.
- Managing store budgets and identifying opportunities for stock turn improvements
- New & Revamp store viabilities and strategy as well as profiling planned
- Monitoring new and revamp stores with monthly feedback to merchants with opportunities
- Markdown reconciliation with finance and all supplier claim recon with finance
- All store incentives and weekly updates
- Gather, clean, analyse and present data:
- Manage and present data in a professional manner that is understandable, accurate and relevant
- Ensure that Data and Operational Analytics are well researched, relevant and well presented
- Analyse Supply Chain processes
- Analyse general retail business processes, for example inventory management and control, merchandise, flow of products via Distribution Centres, etc.
- To achieve the above through building constructive and mutually beneficial relationships with key functions within the business.
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- 5+ years proven merchandise distribution and planning experience
- A high degree of numeracy and an analytical. detailed and strategic approach to work
- Strong business acumen, merchant thinking, as well as store and customer understanding
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent negotiating skills
- A high degree of decision making ability
- Service orientated and self-motivated
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Assertive communication skills and the ability to communicate and develop relationships at all levels
- Computer literacy
- Product knowledge will be advantageous
