Duties -Centre Lathe Turner

Setup And Operation

Set up and operate manual centre lathes for manufacturing pump components (shafts, casings, impellers).

Adjust machine settings to achieve required dimensions and tolerances.

Blueprint Interpretation

Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure parts meet specifications.

Tool Selection And Maintenance

Select and maintain appropriate tools and fixtures for machining tasks.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot lathe equipment.

Quality Control

Measure and inspect components using precision instruments (e.g., callipers, micrometres).

Identify and correct defects before production progresses.

Documentation

Maintain records of production activities, including quantities and inspection results.

Document any changes made during machining processes.

Collaboration

Work with engineering and production teams to provide feedback on designs.

Safety Compliance

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.

Problem-Solving

Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
