A Vehicle Tracking, Recovery and Fleet Management business operations throughout South Africa is looking for a CFO.
The business has experienced exponential growth over the last few years and now has a staff compliment of over 200 employees nationally.
The business is looking to consolidate its national footprint and to expand into sub-Saharan Africa in the medium term. To achieve this the business will require a CFO with strong technical knowledge, management ability, and experience with high-growth entities.
Job Description
As the business continues to experience exponential growth and sets its sights on possible international expansion, we are looking for a capable, experienced CFO to support the CEO in developing operational and financial strategies and internal controls that will enable the company to reach its full potential and maximise stakeholder value.
The CFO will form part of the management team based at the headquarters in Johannesburg and will take ultimate responsibility for the company's accounting, finance and admin functions. The CFO will directly head the Finance and Admin Department (currently consisting of an Admin Manager, an accounts clerk, and 8 collections clerks).
Tasks And Duties
- Form a close working relationship with the CEO and other members of the senior management team
- Take overall control of the company's accounting function
- Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers
- Ensure that company financial systems and internal controls are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
- Lead and develop the finance team
- Prepare corporate budgets and forecasts
- Take ultimate responsibility for the company's cash management function
- Prepare monthly management accounts and Annual Financial Statements
- Oversee the statutory audit process
- Ensure compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies
- Corporate finance: manage company processes regarding capital, debt, taxation, equity, procurement, etc.
- Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customer, investors, bankers, etc.
- Advanced qualification in finance and accounting (CA(SA), etc.)
- Proven experience as an FM, finance officer, or CFO
- Experience with international group structures and the setting up thereof would be highly advantageous
- Firm grasp of current accounting standards and commercial legislation (taxation, etc.)
- High level of proficiency with commonly used business software packages (MS Office, QuickBooks)
- Excellent data analysis and forecasting skills
