Responsibilities
It will be beneficial if the candidate has an extensive background in UV curable ink formulations, polymer chemistry, and will be responsible for the development of innovative UV ink products for a variety of applications. Key Responsibilities:
- Formulation Development:
- Design, develop, and optimize UV ink formulations for various applications.
- Maintain a systematic approach for ink formulation, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
- Testing and Validation:
- Conduct comprehensive testing of ink properties including adhesion, durability, colour, rheology, and cure speed.
- Validate the performance of new ink formulations through standardized and application-specific tests.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the R&D team, sales, and application teams to understand market needs and tailor formulations accordingly.
- Work closely with raw material suppliers to stay abreast of the latest technologies and innovations.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of ink formulations, testing results, and production procedures.
- Prepare technical data sheets, safety datasheets, and other necessary documentation.
- Scale-up and Production Support:
- Assist in the scale-up of ink formulations from lab scale to production.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to ink formulation.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to UV inks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in ink formulation processes
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in UV ink formulation or similar
- In-depth understanding of pigment dispersions, polymer chemistry and UV curing mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment relevant to ink formulation and testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
