About The Role
As the CEO, you will be responsible for implementing the company's strategy with a view to creating shareholder value. Your leadership role will also entail being ultimately responsible for all day-to-day management decisions and for implementing the company's long and short-term plans. You will be the key communicator on behalf of the company to shareholders, employees, government authorities, other stakeholders, and the public.
Key Responsibilities
As the CEO, your primary duties and essential tasks will include:
The Board
- Sitting on committees of the Board where appropriate as determined by the Board.
- Ensuring that the Chairman and the board are alerted to forthcoming complex, contentious, or sensitive issues affecting the organization.
- Providing input into the Board's agenda through discussions among themselves and other members of the executive team.
- Offering information and advice on succession planning to the Board.
- Taking full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company.
- Leading the executive management of the organization's business, consistent with the strategy and commercial objectives agreed by the Board.
- Promoting and conducting the affairs of the company with the highest standards of integrity, probity, and corporate governance.
- Acting as a liaison between management and the Board, effectively executing the Board's decisions.
- Ensuring the integrity of all public disclosures by the company.
- Maintaining and protecting the reputation of the company.
- Setting and leading the vision and purpose of the organization in consultation with the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
- Ensuring that the company maintains high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility wherever it does business.
- Working with the executive team on researching, proposing, and developing the company's strategy and overall commercial objectives, in consultation with the Chairman and the Board.
- Ensuring accurate, timely, and clear Board reporting from the executive team.
- Keeping abreast of all material undertakings and activities of the company and all material external factors affecting the organization, and ensuring processes and systems are in place to keep the Board and management informed.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
To be considered for this vital leadership role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- An appropriate technical bachelor's degree and further studies in Business Management / Leadership.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing and selling/commercial operations.
- Previous experience as an MD/CEO in a similar industry.
- Excellent leadership and written communication skills.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Preferably a PDI candidate
