Chief Financial Officer (FinTech/Cryptocurrency)

Our Client is Africas portal to the cryptoeconomy. They are building digital financial infrastructure a centralised crypto wallet, a launchpad, an exchange, and a Layer-1 blockchain as their core products to fully bring Sub-Saharan Africa into the new world of decentralised finance, ownership, and creativity. With the backing of premier crypto investors and Silicon Valley VC firms, they have launched their first product in Nigeria, and are quickly moving to expand into Kenya, Ghana, and the U.K.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in finance and/or financial leadership in high-growth technology companies
• At least 2 years of immersion in crypto/blockchain companies, which have resulted in a fluent understanding of blockchain technology and digital assets
• Masters degree or comparable educational achievement
• Proven success in fundraising and/or investing in emerging market high-growth technology startups
• Experience guiding technology companies through multiple fundraising rounds
• Deep expertise in setting up, developing, and optimising the corporate finance function of a growing technology company
• Exceptionally conversant in the financial aspect of both retail FinTech operations and institutional OTC desks
• Demonstrated ability to structure and lead a multifunctional finance team that covers corporate finance, fundraising, institutional and retail revenue, and other related fronts
• Confident ability to participate and guide in leadership decisions at a senior executive/C-Suite level

Responsibilities

• Act as the CEOs thought and execution partner for iteratively positioning the company on the best strategic footing for internal finance, fundraising, and revenue generation
• Define and guide our fundraising strategy while keeping in mind the changing state of the market, the companys performance, the companys dual equity/token structure, and the dynamic nature of the FinTech ecosystem in Africa and other developing markets
• Architect, optimise, and evolve the companys global corporate finance apparatus
• Serve as the custodian and gatekeeper for the companys capital, overseeing budgeting and spend decisions with ROI and financial sustainability as dual core objectives
• Strategize around and execute on the evolution of the Tokenthe internal utility token of the businesses ecosystemon its pre-sale, launch, listing, and in-market evolution
• Be the executive head of the companys multifunctional finance organisation
• Participate in and hold accountable the companys Executive Committee, which is the companys most senior leadership team that makes all decisions financial, operational, technological, and otherwise
