What You Can Expect
The incumbent will have functional responsibility for Finance, Control and Governance related matters of BASF Catalysts South Africa (ECMS). Overseeing General Ledger, Management Accounting, Tax Accounting and Compliance topics and managing internal and external service providers which includes outsourced services as well as Internal and External Auditors. Duties will include the following:
- Establish a long-term vision that balances fiscal outcomes with performance goals, ensuring alignment with overarching business strategies and objectives
- Identify and drive the implementation of strategic choices that lead to sustainable value creation and organizational growth
- Acquire and utilize effective strategies to improve communication, increase influence, and exert a more significant personal impact on both internal and external stakeholders
- Lead change and transformation efforts that create lasting value for the finance function and the wider organization
- Transform culture across the organization to ensure it is risk aware and financially aligned
- Drive the companys financial planning
- Perform risk management by analyzing the organizations liabilities and investments
- Control and evaluate the organizations fundraising plans, cash flow and capital structure
- Supervise all finance personnel (controllers, treasurers etc.)
- Manage vendor relationships
- Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
- Lead and support all governance, compliance and internal control initiatives in adherence to all applicable laws and policies
- Support the Directors in achieving the targets and goals of the business
- CA (SA)
- Proven experience as CFO, Finance Officer, or relevant role in a multinational corporate environment (Minimum 5 years)
- Proven experience in metals management in catalytic converter production environment
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP)
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to strategize and devise solutions using an analytical mindset
