Job Details
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To coordinate acquisition of parts and services to meet the operational goals of the Clinical Engineering Department as directed by technicians, manager and/or director.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain files, records and logs using paper and electronic methods.
Places orders for parts, supplies and services in a timely manner via on-line purchasing system, or paper requisition process using fax and/or phone.
Receives and stock procured items as necessary. Verifies and distributes parts and equipment to appropriate persons. Uses department computer system to enter parts and work order information.
Monitors intake of equipment delivered to Clinical Engineering for service. Based on requested service and criticality, use appropriate decision making to facilitate expedient and cost effective turn- around time.
Tracks new and existing equipment movement from customers and vendors thru Clinical Engineering using departmental and CCHS computer systems.
Creates and prepare shipping documents to send equipment to vendors following approved guidelines.
Monitors the status of orders and services thru completion. Updates requisitioner as to status.
Resolves invoice discrepancies forwarded by Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and/or Management.
Researchs product information for Clinical Engineering
Utilizes effective office procedure, organization and communication skills.
Answers telephone, provides information and takes messages. Routes calls to appropriate personnel based on situation or request described in call.
Orders, pick up and stock clean laundry as needed. Deliver soiled laundry to textiles for processing.
Changes common batteries in equipment
Complies with CCHS and departmental policies/procedures.
Meets mandatory education requirements.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to management, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma
Two years clerical or storeroom experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
