Introduction
We are looking to appoint a Senior Floor Planner to work within the Space Planning team. This role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and report to the Space Planning Manager.
Job Description
Job Purpose:
- To be the central administrator of all Floor Space operational requirements relating to the assortment and life cycle management of New, Revamp, Space Reallocation and other projects, including DotActiv to Blue Yonder transitions. Also to optimise performance and efficiency in high profile or project stores, through the allocation of merchandisable space and associated equipment in accordance with their clientele profile, anticipated performance and within the prescribed templates and flow parameters.
- Central administrator of all Floor Planning control documentation.
- Handling all administrative measures regarding Blue Yonder life cycle management including transitions and error resolution.
- Validation and progress tracking of New/Revamp and Space Reallocation merchandise assortment projects.
- All operation requirements relating to Floor Planning Co-Op administration.
- Interpret and validate an understanding of who the dominant clientele is for the relevant merchandise project, e.g. new store.
- Interpret each stores performance per category, making informed space allocation decisions to apply the ideal space and maximize profitability.
- Establish a merchandised floor plan proposal where applicable including new and revamp stores.
- Apply the correct flow and adjacencies to support a prescribed Chain Store image and strategic navigation plan.
- Facilitate the compilation of equipment and aisle sign requirements as applicable.
- Assist in the on-going process of reallocating space on store plans to facilitate the implementation of strategic changes.
- Record space allocated for reference, planning and communication.
- Communicate store plan proposals to all required stakeholders.
Job Knowledge:
Essential
- Sound knowledge and understanding of consumer shopping habits; competitor activity and market players in the Health and Beauty retail sector; consumer demographics and retail merchandising.
- Understanding of Blue Yonder Life cycle management and the inter-application dependencies.
- Key attention to Detail, Full understanding of category adjacencies within the Health, Wellness and Beauty sectors, ability to work independently
Essential:
- MS Office applications especially Excel (intermediate)
- Blue Yonder application experience
- Efficient in CAD computer skills
- Puzzle building ability, conceptual and spatial understanding and application, the ability to plan to physical translation visualization and good written and verbal communication skills
Job Experience:
- 2-3 years experience for store operations management or shop floor merchandise planning (essential)
- Store design using CAD (essential)
- Floor planning or Visual merchandising (essential)
- Client marketing experience with an FMCG supplier
