The perfect candidate will need to compile and maintain client accounting and payroll records on a monthly basis as well as finalise accounting records in the form of Financial Statements. This encompasses providing assistance to clients in areas such as SARS matters, payroll and accounting. Performing independent reviews and compilation engagements.
Preferrably residing in JHB.
Key Performance Areas
Monthly Accounting and Payroll
- Responsible for compiling and maintaining monthly client accounting records including reconciliations for debtors, creditors, VAT, payroll and bank.
- Responsible for compiling and maintaining monthly client payroll records.
- Ensuring that all payroll changes are supported with additional documentation such as contracts of employment, bonus and increase letters, or company authorised correspondence.
- Assisting clients from various industries with VAT, payroll and basic accounting related queries and submissions.
- Responsible for preparing and submitting Workmans Compensation and UIF via uFiling.
- Responsible for VAT and payroll tax submissions including addressing SARS queries and audits in a timeous manner.
- Follow up with client and/or SARS on the status of VAT and PAYE, SDL, UIF payments made and address any penalties and/or interest that may be imposed.
- Responsible for the performance of Compilations and Independent Reviews required for Companies, Trusts, Close Corporations, etc.
- Draft financial statements required for the Compilations and Independent Reviews in terms of IFRS for SMEs and Basic Accounting principles.
- Must foster good client relationships through efficient communication.
- Assist clients with technical queries relating to SARS and accounting matters.
- Provide the highest standard of advice and exceptional client service.
- Resolve client issues and concerns and respond effectively.
- Provide client with regular updates in relation to management reports.
- 3-5 years client accounting experience.
- Accounting packages: Pastel Partner, Sage Online and Pastel Partner Payroll.
