Global Client Terms Analyst

ROLE

The role supports the Global Client Terms Team within the Global Business Acceptance Department to facilitate the review and management of client terms obligations including but not limited to, pitching of documentation, ensuring smooth management of daily workflows, facilitating effective management of contractual obligations with clients and finally the overall management of risk.

This role works with and supports the Firm globally, with an initial focus on the US, UK, Ireland, and Middle East locations.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assisting with the review and identification of potential conflicts issues with respect to clients, matters, and new business firmwide in the context of RFPs, client terms, and clearance of articles/publications
  • Supporting the Global Client Terms Manager and the team in managing the various responsibilities of the Global Client Terms Team
  • Undertaking a preliminary review of client terms documentation in order to triage requests, to ensure action is taken by the correct member of the team, or to identify where referrals are to be made to other teams
  • Assisting with document comparison and flagging key changes to team members
  • Where directed by and under the supervision of other team members, to undertake review of non-complex documentation
  • Responding to ad hoc enquiries
  • Preparing documentation for upload to the Firm's databases, and extracting key data for recording in the appropriate systems
  • Helping to ensure the currency of data held in internal systems
  • Reviewing client alerts and publications to ensure compliance with client terms, running non-complex conflict checks in order to facilitate such review, and following established procedures to refer to other teams as necessary for their input
  • Perform comprehensive corporate research using the firm's commercial data providers and external sources for the purpose of determining any organisational relationships applicable to the client search conflicts check
  • Producing reports from client data and through internal systems to support the team in providing analysis and management information to the Firm as required
  • Assist with updating client terms records when fee earners leave the Firm, following established protocols
  • Sharing knowledge of the team's services with the wider business, and always acting as an ambassador to the Global Client Terms Team and the Business Acceptance Department
  • Updating and management of the team's various workstream reports and management information, which help to inform policy and process changes required from time to time
  • Liaising with the Office of the General Counsel and other teams where their input is required on a terms review, pitch, or on ad hoc issues
  • Liaising with Business Development and matter teams on the outcome of pitches, for the purposes of updating records
  • Attending and being an active participant in team meetings
  • Assisting with team projects and initiatives as required
  • Other duties as may be assigned to fully meet the requirements of the team and its function
Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills
  • Fluency in English - both written and oral
  • Knowledge of AI technology (desirable)
  • Experience using SharePoint (desirable)

Education, Experience & Certifications
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 1- 2 years' experience within a law firm risk and compliance team
  • Prior experience working with law firms or corporate legal departments with Intapp conflict checking and business intake software advantageous
