MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To plan and facilitate identified learning and development interventions to ensure competency of all nursing staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Develop the competence of all nursing staff
- Ensure the correct application of nursing procedures and policies
- Identify training needs to guide the development of appropriate clinical training interventions
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
Diploma or Degree in Nursing and Midwifery
Critical Care qualified / experienced
DESIRED EDUCATION
Post-graduate Diploma in Nursing Education; Unit Specialty certificate or diploma where appropriate (e.g. Emergency Centre / Operating Theatre / Cricital Care Unit)
Required Experience
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
2 years Clinical experience as a professional nurse
2 years' Clinical experience as a professional nurse in Critical Care environment
Desired Experience
1-2 years experience as a peer mentor; 1-2 years experience as a Workplace assessor
