Role: Clinical Accomplishment ICU & High Care -Operational
Main Purpose of the Job:
Plan, implement, evaluate and maintain the ICU & High Care standards of care through the following processes: – Sustained continuous staff development programs
- Clinical standards appraisals and student development
Internal patient and Doctor satisfaction promotion
Audit of patient files ensuring conformity to legislated standards
Orientation of new employees (nursing) Infection Control
Education, experience and competencies required:
Diploma I degree in general nursing science and midwifery (Registered with SANC) Post Basic Diploma: Critical Care Nursing (Registered with SANC)
Degree I Post Basic Diploma ln ursing
Formal qualification in Clinical Facilitation would be an added advantage
Appropriate I recognizable experience as a Clinical Facilitator
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (ability to speak and write English.) other languages would be an added advantage.
Ability to maintain excellent standards and service levels
Integrity and willing to work flexible hours
Mature personality with abilities to assist with patients in a courteous and polite manner
To be punctual and reliable
To be able to work as part of a team and to assist where necessary
Involvement in the operation requires the following duties and responsibilities:
- Accountability and responsibility
- Orientation program.
- Weekly In-Service on recurring problems
- Solely responsible for assessing and validating clinical procedures deemed crucial to quality Nursing Care
- Clinical procedures as per competency workbook
- Infection Control
- Maintaining standards
Internal patient and Doctor satisfaction
Audit of patient files ensuring conformity to legislated standards
Orientation of new nursing employees
Continual Doctor liaison and inter-departmental relationships
Application of policies for the operation within the hospital industry
Ensure that all documentation required is correctly completed and appropriately filed and· distributed. Application of policies for the operation within the Hospital Industry
