Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Triage: Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical history, vital signs, and chief complaints.
Prioritize and triage patients based on the urgency of their medical needs.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and appropriate care.
Treatment and Interventions: Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Perform wound care, suture removal, and other minor medical procedures.
Provide health education to patients on medication management, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct and interpret basic diagnostic tests, such as ECGs, urinalysis, and point-of-care testing.
Coordinate with external diagnostic facilities for more complex diagnostic procedures as needed.
Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies within the clinic, initiating basic life support measures when necessary.
Coordinate with emergency services for patient transfers to hospitals if required.
Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs and ensure that they receive timely and appropriate care.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to address patient concerns and facilitate effective communication.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records for all patients.
Document all interventions, assessments, and communication in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
Infection Control and Safety: Adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and hygienic clinic environment.
Educate patients on infection prevention measures and hygiene practices.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear and concise information about their health conditions and treatment plans.
Continuing Education: Stay updated on current medical practices, guidelines, and regulations through continuous professional development.
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance clinical skills.
Patient Follow-up: Conduct follow-up assessments for patients with chronic conditions or ongoing care needs.
Ensure that patients are connected with appropriate resources for continued care.
