- Ensure that employees are busy and working effectively.
- Ensure that they always work safely.
- Check that work area is closed, and fans are off before premises is left
- Job cards need to be collected for the painters each morning from Casing Administrator.
- Clear instructions to be given to the painters on what they need to paint for the day and specification of it.
- Get an outstanding item list from Michelline with all contracts on that need to be painted.
- Make sure all the items that are required to be painted are ready (finished fettle and pack out and ready to paint)
- While painters are busy with Job 1 start preparing Job 2 to be ready to paint once they have completed Job 1
- Give the painters written instructions on what contract needs to be painted, paint specifications, thickness of primer / final.
- Make sure all outstanding items are with the painters.
- Make sure that all the painter Job cards have been filled in correctly and send photos of the work done to Michael every afternoon.
- Check that all paint thickness is correct and according to specifications, if not show the painter where corrections need to be made.
- Inform the Quality Inspector when a contract is ready for inspection.
- Ensure that the painters paint on top of the trestles.
- Ensure that there is no overspray on other items.
- Should there be any items shorting on a contract inform the workshop Manager. If he cannot assist inform the C.E.O immediately.
- Painters need to ensure that the items have been fettled correctly before they paint any items.
- Ensure that the paint area is neat and tidy.
- At the end of each shift the painters should clean their machines and inspection should be done to ensure that the machines have been cleaned.
- Should the machines not have been cleaned correctly it should be reported to the HR immediately to issue a warning to the operator.
- Ensure that there is enough paint in the store for all the jobs that needs to be painted. If not, fill in a requisition form with exact description of paint required, the contract it is required for, and qty. Have the requisition signed by Michael, and then give it to the buyer.
- Ensure that the paint store is neat and tidy.
- Issue only paint to a painter, which he requires for the job on his job card, dont give him yellow if his current job requires blue.
- Before issuing paint to a painter, he must hand in his empty drum of paint.
- Squash all empty paint drums and throw them in the skip.
