The Marketing and Events Specialist will be responsible for formulating and implementing the IQbusiness communications strategy with the Head of Marketing, and in line with organisational priorities.
The end-to-end management of internal and external events is a secondary focus, yet an essential part the role. The role requires a creative and results-driven self-starter, with strong writing and organisational skills, as well as a strategic mindset and excellent writing skills. He/she will be comfortable with day-to-day marketing activities, as well as long-term strategy, thriving with tight deadlines and changing needs. Communications Responsibilities
- Coordinate, write, edit and distribute content across all the IQbusiness communications channels
- Reviewing and proofreading of marketing collateral and communications for accuracy, adherence to style guides and brand standards.
- Stakeholder management and implementation of various communication campaigns
- Ability to identify communication opportunities and risks and develop appropriate communications
- Ensure all elements and messages are consistent with the broader corporate communications strategy, business positions, and ensure data/information integrity.
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of existing communication channels and develop alternatives where required.
- Set and implement an engagement communications plans
- Contribute ideas and concepts to enable creative and effective communications
- Manage all aspects of event planning, meet strict deadlines, and stay within budget
- Nurture and build relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts while crafting and implementing the creative and logistical aspects of all events
- Remain current (or ahead of the curve) with trends in event planning, design, and production, and proactively identify and solve operational challenges
- Coordinate with internal staff, clients, and vendors to establish the requirements for an event, and serve as liaison to senior executives throughout the planning process
- Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and marketing materials
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise on event day
- Bachelors degree in marketing or related field
- 7-10 years of experience, preferably within a professional services/financial services environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
- Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity
