Community Liaison Officer

Mission

The main purpose of this position is to foster positive relationships between the organization and local communities, ensuring that organizational activities are socially responsible, beneficial to the local communities and the wind farm projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Job seeker request and Labour Requisition (Recruitment)
  • Attending Stakeholder Engagement Meetings.
  • Assist Site on processing Request for Quotations (RFQs).
  • Attending Crisis & Strike Committee meetings.
  • Compilation of monthly Recruitment Reports
  • Report on Community Development.
  • Manage Dispute and Strike that relate to project on local Community Level.
  • Provide oversight on Community Relations.
  • Represent Nordex at all required community Meetings.
  • Manage Grievance Committee Deliverables.
  • Compilation of monthly Recruitment and Community Relations Reports.
  • Maintenance of data & records of correspondence.
  • Ensure that the provisions and requirements of the contract are understood and
adhered to.
  • Ensure that the companys contractual and commercial position is protected and
maximised.
  • Raise positive queries and assist with Relationship to stakeholders and community leadership.

  • Liaising with all the relevant players to ensure the smooth flow of work within the department and ensuring good work ethics and morale prevails.
  • The Community Liaison Officer reports to the Site Manager.
Job Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work with different cultures.
  • Fully conversant in the English language (Spoken and written), additional languages will be an advantage.
  • Very good negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good team skills and ability to adopt to project needs.
  • Work within guidelines and rules.
  • Follow job procedures.
  • Have a driver licence.
  • Knowledge and experience with the construction Industry and its requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
Duration: 12 months

Type of contract: Fixed Term Contract

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification and applicable tertiary qualification is required, with above average numeracy and literacy.
