Compliance Officer (South Africa/Dubai)

Job Summary The Senior Compliance Officer, Health Care Compliance Program Lead, acts as a member of the Legal & Compliance Department (L&C). The Compliance Officer materially contributes to building, implementing, and managing the health care compliance and (if applicable) the distribution management program of Terumo Europe in EMEA. The Compliance Officer acts as the first point of contact for BUs & Functions for healthcare or distribution management compliance matters or other compliance matters or programs. The Compliance Officer leads one or more Centre of Excellence.

He/she applies extensive knowledge and expertise in health care compliance, anti bribery and distribution management and leads a consistent implementation of the TE compliance program in its cluster to the different BUS through day-to-day advice, training, monitoring, audits and reporting. Handles and coordinates day-to-day legal matters in its cluster under supervision of a legal counsel.
In his role the Senior Compliance Officer will report to a compliance manager or legal counsel and collaborate with and be guided by expert legal counsel. Guides and coaches, the compliance coordinators (administrators) of the different businesses in its cluster and if applicable, other compliance officers in its area of expertise.
Leads one or more centres of excellence or leads or contribute (depending on the project) to EMEA wide compliance projects such as improving compliance processes and procedures, drafting policies or automation.

Job Responsibilities You actively participate in compliance and team meetings, bringing relevant topics for discussion. Uphold high ethical standards and confidentiality. Collaborate effectively within the matrix organization, resolving overlaps and sharing information. Contribute to compliance programs, develop deliverables, and manage assigned projects. Build relationships within the company, conveying risk evaluations and policies. Network outside the company, representing it in industry associations. Regularly report on responsibilities and handle contract administration using CMS.Be an expert on local anti-bribery regulations, healthcare compliance, and distributor management. Share knowledge with compliance officers and the team. Stay informed about relevant laws and propose actions.Identify training needs and educate associates on Terumos compliance program and policies, focusing on local regulations. Train BU Compliance Coordinators and embed compliance in daily operations. Advise on HCC and distribution management, review and approve HCP/HCO interactions, perform transparency reporting, and conduct compliance reviews.Manage the distribution process for all businesses in Africa. Develop and provide training, handle contract management, and guide businesses in daily distributor due diligence. Review and advise on due diligence reports, collaborating closely with other compliance officers and legal counsel.Perform regular risk assessments and monitor local compliance programs, suggesting improvements. Conduct internal investigations and support audits. Fulfill transparency reporting requirements. Provide timely input for reporting to Terumo Corporation and other necessary reporting requirements.Contribute to or lead EMEA-wide compliance projects and working groups (e.g., HCP Consultancy, Transparency Reporting, Monitoring). When leading a COE, design and manage the program, perform and coordinate monitoring activities, recommend improvements, and collaborate with compliance officers and team members to implement enhancements.Coordinate various legal matters in Cluster Africa with legal counsel, including contracts and corporate issues.
Profile description: Master degree and a degree on Compliance or on the job experience Good knowledge of business needs Leadership skills Good verbal and written communication skills Good level of IT with Microsoft office skills Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Expert knowledge of Industry Code requirements. Ability to perform assignments with skill, knowledge and a high degree of independence. Strong English language skills (business nomenclature)
