We are a national Network Operator who physically constructs and maintains our own infrastructure in South Africa and a few African countries. We are looking for an construction foreman to assist with maintaining and growing our physical infrastructure. We provide many opportunities for growth and training in an exciting career.
Job requirements:
- Knowledge of concrete work
- Knowledge of steelwork (welding and types of steel)
- Valid driver’s licence
- PC literate
- Knowledge of basic electrical work will be beneficial
- You need to be willing to work away(in different areas of South Africa) on projects for some days (Sometimes a week or 2) at a time.
Job responsibilities:
- Managing of a team
- Planning and building of communication towers
- Building and maintaining of solar power solutions
- Building and maintaining security solutions (Palisade fencing, razor wire, alarms, etc.)
- Liaising with clients to acquire information about faults and confirm resolution
- Please note that this is a physical hands on position. You will yourself be performing the following types of tasks on a daily basis:
- Cutting and welding of steel to build metal structures (lattice masts, frames to hold solar panels, gates and fences for security)
- Laying of concrete to mount your structures in
- Connecting batteries, solar panels, wind turbines, invertors etc. to create power solutions.
- Installing electric fencing, CCTV cameras, alarm systems and sensors
- Researching and sourcing the materials needed
- Note that, although you need to be able to manage a team, there will often be times where you are working alone, or with 1 manual assistant.
