Core Description
Responsible for physical security operations, management, coordination, and support function to the Telkom Security Group to ensure effective management of the security services.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide Physical Security operations, coordination, support, and control in collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance to security protocols and standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, such as business units, state departments, law enforcement agencies, security vendors, and other security stakeholders to enhance security capabilities.
- Educate employees on security awareness, policies and procedures through regional inductions and communication initiatives.
- Participate in security committees, forums and represent Telkom in security industry programmes and initiatives.
- Provide security support, engage, report, and escalate security operations challenges to security management.
- Manage and mitigate security risks including industrial action management and coordination.
- Perform regular testing of critical security measures and equipment to establish ability to deal with security infringements/ incidents.
- Compile reports and share the outcomes with relevant role players.
- Investigate and report on security incidents/ irregularities.
- Coordinate and manage National Key points activities as per NKP regulations and protocols
- Provide solutions, recommendations and implement security counter measures.
- Conduct security risks assessment and provide security technology requirements proposals for sites affected by security risks and make recommendations on required security intervention measures.
- Monitor all security related technology projects in the respective regions.
- Minimise physical security losses by identifying problem areas/ sites and provide asset protection and security counter measures.
- Liaise with communities and contractors in relation to security related projects and challenges
- Manage physical guarding contracts and service providers performance SLAs requirements.
- Review and analyse service providers monthly security reports and address non-compliance.
- Report all dysfunctional security systems and manage site repairs and maintenance.
- Implement cost effective operational measures.
- Manage and monitor Security service provider SLA as per security contract and the deployment requirements.
- Verify security invoices.

Education

Certification:
- Private Security Industry Regulation Authority (PSIRA) - Grade "A"
- National Key Point (NKP) certification or experience
- Qualification preferably in police & security studies, Investigations, technical background, and security systems.
- SSA Security Management Course will be advantageous.
- Experience in Security Operations, with knowledge of current security standards and systems.
- Ability to work after hours and weekends.
- Must have extensive understanding of the security risk and threats facing Security Operations and construction sites.
- Must have knowledge and an understanding of legislation governing the security industry.
- Excellent stakeholder management and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Good understanding of Business ethics principles.
