eCommerce Content Coordinator – Cape Union Mart

Our eCommerce department requires a dedicated and passionate eCommerce Content Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance of the relevant website(s), including content planning, creative briefing & loading of all eCommerce content across the complete user journey on our website(s). The role will require the incumbent to work effectively across teams to proactively source and load relevant content to drive a rich customer experience online, as well as increased conversions & sales.

Key Duties
  • Actively participate in the brainstorming & planning processes for all website content.
  • Drive content-driven ideas and initiatives aimed at improving trade, both online and in-store.
  • Ensure that the eCommerce content calendar is accurate & up to date according to all planned activity.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to plan & execute content updates from start to finish, including briefing of assets, feedback, approval & loading of content online.
  • Ensure that all website content is consistent with the brand look & feel from a creative perspective.
  • Take ownership of the execution of all website content updates according to the agreed eCommerce content calendar.
  • Manage timelines / deadlines and communicate effectively with other teams and individuals as needed in order to align activity across channels & provide a seamless customer experience.
  • Drive alignment between the eCommerce team & marketing teams including digital, brand, suppliers & financial partners to ensure that we drive conversion & optimise performance (eg. mailers, paid media & SMS).
  • Collaborate effectively with copywriter(s) to ensure all website content is optimized for SEO & speaks clearly to customers, including the execution of all blog / editorial content
  • Collaborate with the eCommerce product team to ensure that product is available online as needed for all campaigns, launches & rollouts.
  • Monitor and track daily, weekly & monthly content performance using various optimisation & reporting tools with the aim of continuously optimising content based on customer behaviour & website performance.
  • Flag any system issues or other problems that may delay the execution of a campaign go-live date with external teams.
  • Execute regular updates of Group content on the website, such a payment partner pages and About Us.
  • Perform regular QA of all website content to ensure it is brand aligned & that we consistently drive improvements in online user journey.
  • Do regular market & competitor research & share these key insights with the team.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar position
  • Matric and related tertiary education in digital/ eCommerce
  • High-level understanding of web design, web content and web user-experience
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms, Google Analytics & SEO
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels such as PPC, SEO, display & affiliate marketing
  • Domain knowledge in eCommerce, retail, online advertising and/or analytics

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of individuals with different skill sets

  • Decisive, structured, and organized, with a keen eye for detail
  • Fast learner with a strong aptitude for systems
  • Passionate about online, digital, eCommerce, websites and UX
