About The Role

As our Content Marketing Strategist and Creator, you'll be the architect of our narrative, crafting compelling stories that make our clients say take action. In this role you'll be the creative force behind our efforts to educate and engage best-fit audiences. You will craft compelling narratives and content that shine a light on why TaxValet is in a category of its own, and ultimately achieve the "wow, I get it now!" experience from our prospects.
The purpose of the Content Marketing Strategist and Creator at TaxValet is to lead and manage the entire content production pipeline from conception to execution and beyond. This includes developing and refining content strategies, brainstorming innovative ideas, planning detailed content schedules, executing high-quality content, and measuring its effectiveness. You will be responsible for producing lead-generating content across a range of mediums, including blog posts, lead magnets, social media, videos, and more, ensuring alignment with TaxValet's brand voice and business objectives. As TaxValet's first content hire, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the content direction and make a significant impact on the company's growth.
In this role, you'll need to balance high-level strategic thinking with the ability to create compelling, insightful content that drives engagement and generates leads. Success will be measured by your ability to consistently deliver content that attracts, engages, and converts our target audience, ultimately contributing to our growth objectives. You will be responsible for creating audience-centric content that resonates with businesses facing sales tax challenges, establishing TaxValet as the go-to thought leader in the industry.
Your Primary Responsibilities
- Content Strategy Development and Execution: Create and implement comprehensive content strategies focusing on lead generation, demand generation, and brand awareness. Employ a data-driven approach to continuously refine strategies based on performance metrics and industry trends.
- Multi-Format Content Creation and Management: Produce high-quality content across various formats (written, visual, audio), including blog posts, lead magnets, social media content, videos, and website copy. Ensure brand consistency across all mediums.
- Thought Leadership and Industry Authority: Develop content that positions TaxValet as a thought leader in the sales tax industry, including original research, trend analyses, and expert commentary on industry developments.
- SEO and Integrated Marketing: Optimize all content for SEO, working closely with the internal SEO specialist. Contribute to and support the execution of integrated digital marketing plans to ensure cohesive strategy and implementation.
- Content Distribution and Repurposing: Develop and implement effective content distribution strategies across various channels. Strategically repurpose content to maximize impact and efficiency.
- Performance Measurement and Optimization: Utilize analytics tools to monitor and report on content performance, focusing on key metrics such as SEO performance, organic traffic, and funnel conversion rates. Continuously refine content strategies based on data insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal subject-matter experts, sales team, and other departments to create targeted, accurate content that supports overall business objectives and addresses customer pain points.

- Proven experience (5+ years) in content marketing, with a strong track record in both strategic planning and content creation. You can be both a "thinker" and a "doer."
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into engaging, accessible content for a business audience.
- Experience in creating content for B2B audiences, particularly in professional services or complex industries.
- Proficiency in content analytics and SEO best practices.
- Strong project management skills and experience in managing content calendars.
- Expertise in creating content for various stages of the buyers' journey.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in managing and executing campaigns with HubSpot

Specific Measures of Success
No surprises here! After a year on the job, you'll be measured by these specific outcomes:
- Website Traffic: After one year, website traffic has increased by at least 30% due to non-advertising methods.
- Lead Generation: After one year, the number of leads generated that are attributable to content has doubled.
- Consultation Requests: The number of qualified consultations requested year-over-year that is attributable to content has increased by at least 50%.
- Content ROI: Demonstrate a positive ROI on content marketing efforts, with a target of 3:1 return on content marketing investment within 18 months.
- Completion of online education and training. You will complete 3 hours per quarter of continuing education to deepen your skills.
