Job Overview
  • The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer is an active member of our triad organization, working in partnership with (People) and (Asset) to deliver results for their area. He/she will develop and execute all CI activities for his/her area through the MSE.
  • The CI Engineer is responsible for building the skills of the operational teams. He/she strives to eliminate waste through the application of rigorous, data-driven, problem-solving daily processes.
  • The CI Engineer will own the data integrity and Standard Running Condition (SRC) process for their area.
  • The CI Engineer addresses the root causes of failures and downtime. He/she links the outage, root cause, DMS failure, and action in the plan for the day with the ultimate goal of eliminating losses permanently.
  • The CI engineer uses data to guide decision making.
What are we looking for?

Education & Professional Qualification
  • University degree in Industrial/Chemical Engineering, or equivalent qualification
  • General knowledge of engineering problem solving and process development methodologies
  • Fluently in English with strong communication skills
Knowledge/ Experience
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Supply (manufacturing) is required
  • Operational experience is required.
  • TPM/WCM/Lean Six Sigma experience
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Proactive for Associate Safety, QFS and SIG roadmap
  • Identifies and addresses safety risks related to top stops (equipment interaction) and changeover activities.
  • Leads portions of the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly FMOS meetings, including:
    • Daily reporting of top stops and performance metrics (target unit operation MTBF, reliability, waste, etc.)
    • Daily SRC completion and compliance
    • Contribute to development and execution of the plan for the day.
    • Loss trees development and analysis.
    • Leverage data expertise and translate top losses to the team.
  • RCLMS data integrity
  • Health of SRC system: Leads identification of centerline targets, documentation of standards, and coaches the Line Team and technicians through the execution, problem solving and change management.
  • Rate Strategy
  • Lead basic problem solving when issues occur, escalate complicated problems through the right forums and to the relevant teams
  • Deliver tangible savings from continuous improvement projects identified by the operation team as well as prioritized within the IE/PPI/CI team
  • Independently elaborate and implement improvement proposals and where necessary, with various departments such as HSE, Q&FS, PPI, all this in collaboration with the operators
  • Active member of the local & regional CI/IE/PPI community, Benchmark with other Mars factories CI team to share way of working and operational excellence, give functional support to the team when its needed.
  • Supports development and leads execution of portions of the 90-Day improvement plan to deliver the glidepath through loss elimination.
  • Develop basic technical capability on their line (machine and material interface)
  • Builds capability of the line team to understand losses through data.
Context and Scope
  • High degree of independency and collaboration, influencing skills lateral as well as with site leadership team.
  • Direct working relationship with triad, the site Ops team and 3 manufacturing sites CI community and MSE and IE leads and in conjunction with the relevant functions such as Commercial, S&F, Q&FS, PPI, Engineering.
