The ideal candidate will be a resilient Control Room Operator with experience in the operations of a Power Plant or within the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, and Chemical industries. You need to have knowledge of SCADA, be computer literate, and be willing to work shift schedules.
As the Control Room Operator, you will operate the plant in an efficient manner following the operational procedures to satisfy the safety, environmental, and technical capability of the plants National Transmission company protocols and standards.

Education Requirements
- Grade 12 or N3 certificate with maths and science
- At least 2 years of experience in within the operations of a Power Plant, Oil and Gas Process Plant or within the Petrochemical or Chemical Industries
- Ability to analyse situations and solve complex problems
- Be able to work effectively under pressure
- Respond to emergency situations with wise decision making
- Promote a culture of safety at all times
- Work shifts with inter-changing schedules
- Be methodical and efficient when completing tasks
- Knowledge of SCADA
- Familiar with work permit systems
- Working on a 12-hour shift system as per the duty roster
- Operating the plant in accordance with load despatch requirements as well as the expected weather forecast
- Managing the equipment and systems whilst following operational standards
- Keeping informed about any issues arising with Power Block Operators, Solar Field Operators and Cleaning Truck Drivers
- Advising the Shift Manager of any issues that are arising
- Proposing possible procedure improvements to management
- Attending meetings at shift end to discuss the maintenance work progress, schedule issues, near misses, interference issues, and any other applicable aspects of the day
- Following the appropriate emergency response and evacuation procedure when necessary
- Completing daily operational check lists that are agreed upon
- Computer Literate
- Be honest, trustworthy, and reliable
- Be highly motivated and self-driven
