As a Regulatory Controller you will manage the day to day and monthly regulatory reporting requirements for three South African Legal Entities. You are also a team player and use your relationship building skills to partner and liaise with various other departments in the regional office to ensure that all information required is accurate and reliable. You will focus on Data Integrity, completeness, accuracy and report preparation while keeping abreast of the latest updates and changing in regulatory reporting and requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring all BAU reporting deliverables are met. This includes:
- Prudential Authority Returns
- Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Credit, Liquidity, Capital and Statistical returns
- Preparation of annual Branch ICAAP
- JSE& SAFEX
- Monthly completion and submission of capital adequacy return
- Manage annual external audit and ensure clean audit report
- Assist with implementation of new Regulations (e.g. Basel 4), incl. interpretation of Regulations, drafting functional specifications and working with application development teams to update, improve and test in-house regulatory reporting systems and where possible, use global systems.
- Involved in input and testing for any new business / products launched form a regulatory perspective
- Ensure the department meets all requirements under the control agenda
- B. Degree( Applied mathematics, /Accounting)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to deliver amidst continuous change and in an agile work environment
- Inclusive leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across different groups and regions
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills
- Strong awareness of control environment
- An understanding of derivative flows
- Knowledge of multi-currency ledgers and cross border transactions an advantage
- Other relevant qualifications an advantage
- Self starter be able to work independently with little supervision
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (Banks Act, Basle III and IV, JSE rules and regulations) essential
- At least 10 years' regulatory reporting experience in financial institution
