The new Country Director will play a key role in leading the successful South African region, bringing together expertise from local and global Mace organizations to create a market-leading, ambitious team that aims to transform the project and programme management, PMO, and cost consultancy markets.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Management of the overall strategy, and long and short-term goals for an integrated South African business for board approval with a focus on underpinning the 2026 strategy and priorities.
- Owning the South Africa business operational resource requirements, ensuring compliance with Mace Group reporting cycles and establishing appropriate KPIs, and internal reporting cycles, defining inputs/outputs and ensuring timeliness and effectiveness of the reporting.
- Overseeing all client relationships and owning Strategic, local, or global accounts including government, private sector, and public sector clients as needed.
- Working with the Middle East and Africa managing director, mace international board, and business leadership to identify new opportunities with existing and new clients, ensuring all strategic and profitable opportunities are captured and advanced.
- Partnering with the centers of excellence, driving compliance with the discipline standards and processes.
- Identifying and developing strategic partnership opportunities within the industry that are mutually beneficial and align with Mace values and priorities.
- Delivering inspiring and inclusive leadership, that engages teams, enables high performance, and ensures the capability to deliver the business ambition, with robust resource planning and a pipeline of talent to match business demand and to drive the Mace purpose, priorities, and 2026 strategy.
You will have an Entrepreneurial mindset and experience in developing profitable strategies, vision, and structures. A strong consulting, commercial and strategic acumen, highly numerate and analytical combined with a track record of delivery and execution through inspirational leadership.
You will be able to have the demonstrable ability to work on a 5-year strategic plan, constructively challenge the status quo, promote innovation, share Knowledge, establish best practices in service delivery, and operate effective governance and controls practices.
Bringing with you background and appreciation of the property and infrastructure consultancy market with full project lifecycle experience, you will be able to drive effective decision-making for success through instinct and experience, data and analysis, and commercial and financial appraisals.
