To manage the delivery of the client experience and product strategic direction of the portfolio in a profitable way whilst co-ordinating activities across product clusters. Responsible for building out the Trade Finance strategic growth initiative including growth and development in trade finance products and client acquisition in key sectors. Manages the portfolio and drives a digital culture shift through digitisation in a holistic manner in line with cluster goals for product and sales within Transactional Services (TS) and Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB).
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver on the CIB P&L to achieve the agreed financial objectives by driving sustainable growth, ownership and performance for product and sales within TS and CIB
- Meet financial objectives by leading and supporting the organisational budgeting process, driving reporting and monitoring of organisational financial performance
- Drive, develop and manage client growth by identifying opportunities to grow primary banker status, portfolio optimisation and ensuring commercialisation
- Manage the value chain health and profitability of all products within the portfolio
- Drive new client acquisition for trade finance products in key sectors
- Participate in strategic client engagements to drive relevant share of wallet
- Manage the CVP relevant to the end-to-end value client chain to create seamless client experiences and innovative solutions including touch point optimisation with digital self service capability
- Drive trade finance product development to enable holistic client solutions
- Guide a multi-product vision with a long-term strategic framework across sector, client and product whilst incorporating product lifecycle management
- Lead the Digital First strategy creating cohesion between segment, channel and product
- Collaborate effectively to drive the approval of a CIB Portfolio Backlog, encompassing strategic themes, vision, prioritisation and allocation of budgets
- Manage the enterprise innovation funnel, including prioritisation, costs, timelines, complexity and client experience
- Achieve excellence in strategy execution by integrating people, processes, management, systems, measurements and rewards
- Lead and influence collaboration across Nedbank to achieve the distinctive client-centred strategy and trade finance growth strategic initiative
- Steer the operationalisation of required products and services, minimising organisational complexity and cost to serve
- Strategic vendor/partner collaboration and management to drive effective commercialisation, compliance, people, technology, support, operationalisation, value management and servicing
- Manage external/internal stakeholders through effective reporting and communication across Nedbank
- Effective management and accountability of internal audit and compliance requirements in order to mitigate risk
- Drive ideation and execution whilst ensuring sufficient representation and participation in strategic engagements & reforms
- Manage performance against targets set for regulatory compliance, risk management/risk appetite, internal audit, market conduct and other business process obligations
- Drive a deep understanding of the implications and possible requirements and opportunities of emerging industry trends
- Manage team effectively and efficiently across the HR value chain including recruitment, performance management, retention of critical staff, succession planning and coaching and talent management
- Manage performance of direct reports and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their direct subordinates
- Professional Qualifications/Honours Degree
Relevant Masters Degree /Masters in Business Administration
Minimum Experience Level
