  • We have an amazing opportunity for a Creative Strategic Lead to be based in Umhlanga, Durban. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing creative strategy, creating creative concepts and executing marketing campaigns across multiple channels. Lead a creative team through hands-on direction, ensuring that all creative outputs align with our brand identity and marketing strategy. A strong background in both digital and traditional media, with experience in brand development and campaign execution. Requires innovative creativity, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to create integrated marketing campaigns that connect with our target audience and position the business in an innovative, unique and memorable way. Work on multiple projects, across multiple brands so will need to be a strong multi-tasker.

You Bring
  • Minimum of 5 years in a related role
  • 5 years experience in a Managerial or Leadership role
  • Valid drivers license

What Youll Do For The Brand

Creative Leadership & Strategy:
  • Creative Conceptualisation: Develop and communicate the creative concepts for multi-channel campaigns, ensuring consistency across design, copy, digital, and multimedia. Focus on delivering strong creative concepts that are aligned with business objectives.
  • Creative Strategy: Strong strategic and conceptual skills will be required to allow you to craft innovative and strategically rooted creative solutions
  • Collaborative Campaign Development: Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams (Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Digital, etc.) to ensure creative concepts align with broader marketing strategies and brand goals.
  • Innovation: Explore new creative approaches and experiment with emerging trends, ensuring the output remains fresh, engaging, and on-brand.
  • Creative Direction: Provide hands-on direction and feedback to the creative team, ensuring the delivery of innovative and high-quality conceptual campaigns across all channels.
  • Campaign Execution: Oversee the execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet high-quality standards.
Team Management & Development
  • Team Leadership: Guide and support a team of creatives, fostering a collaborative environment that nurtures creativity and innovation.
  • Talent Development: Provide mentorship and feedback to help develop and grow the creative teams skills and capabilities.
  • Resource Management: Manage the creative teams workload, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently, and projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Team Performance: Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement within the team.
Key Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders across the business (Product Development, Marketing, Digital, etc.) to ensure that creative concepts are aligned with the marketing objectives and business vision.
  • External Partnerships: Occasionally collaborate with external suppliers and creative resources for specialized project work.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present creative concepts and campaigns to key stakeholders, collecting feedback and refining the work as necessary.
Brand Stewardship
  • Ensure that all creative outputs consistently reflect the business identity, voice, and visual style across all touchpoints.
  • Work with the broader marketing team to maintain a unified and effective brand message for the project.
Trend Analysis And Innovation
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design innovations, and new technologies to keep creative outputs fresh and relevant.
  • Experiment with new creative approaches to push boundaries and enhance campaign effectiveness.
Project Management & Execution
  • Creative Process Management: Lead the creative process from ideation to delivery, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently and meet or exceed expectations.
  • Quality Control: Review and approve final designs, copy, and multimedia content to ensure brand consistency and high-quality standards.
  • Multimedia Integration: Oversee the integration of different media formats (digital, print, video, etc.) into cohesive and impactful campaigns.
  • Ad Hoc duties as required from time to time
Key Requirements
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in a creative leadership role, with a strong track record of delivering successful marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, and multimedia.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio that demonstrates diverse creative work, including integrated campaigns across all mediums and channels. The portfolio should highlight your ability to develop creative concepts that are both innovative and strategic.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic and conceptual skills, with the ability to create innovative solutions that meet both creative and business objectives
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of creative professionals, ensuring collaboration, high-quality output, and timely delivery.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools. Familiarity with the latest trends in digital and interactive platforms is a plus.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience working cross-functionally with marketing, strategy, and media teams to bring creative ideas to life.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of advertising trends, design principles, and the digital landscape.
  • Cultural Awareness: Ability to create relevant and impactful campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.
