Next Biosciences has a vacancy for a Creditors Clerk.
Job Purpose:
The Creditors Clerk will work to create and maintain a sustainable and effective Financial operation for Next Biosciences.
Key Accountabilities:
- All employees are required to comply with Next Biosciences quality standards- to ensure that SOPs that govern their area of responsibility are adhered to as well as kept up to date.
- Process supplier/creditor accounts and outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data.
- Capturing bank account payments ensuring reconciliation to the bank on a daily basis
- Prepare bills for payment and review.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to supplier statements on a monthly basis.
- Verify discrepancies and resolving billing issues.
- Facilitate timeous payments of supplier bills due and following up on outstanding purchase orders.
- Complete credit account applications for all divisions of the business
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Tertiary Education BCom accounting or similar.
- Proven working experience as a creditors clerk.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
- Data entry skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS office software packages.
- Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
- Customer/Supplier service orientation and negotiation skills.
- Time management skills
- Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs at a highly proficient level.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
