Customer support and network installation manager required

Serve IT is a small but growing company providing IT and consulting services to the SME sector. We are looking for a suitable person that can manage our customer contracts and support systems and do management and training of staff on physical network installation projects.

Job requirements:

  • Must have valid driver’s licence and own car.
  • Must be willing to use own car for transport to customers sites (the employer will pay standard AA rates for all company kilometres).
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the customer service industry (does not have to be IT, any industry with direct customer contact).
  • Located in Vanderbijlpark or willing to relocate to Vanderbijlpark.
  • Personal skills
  • Motivated, self-driven individual
  • Willingness to take initiative to improve current IT Helpdesk systems and procedures and put in place new systems to drive forward customer service and support.
  • Willing to go the extra mile to finish critical / urgent support issues
  • Excellent communications skills (English and Afrikaans), both verbal and written.
  • Well-structured and able to perform tasks according to pre-defined procedures.
  • Ability to take full responsibility for tasks and systems.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail!
  • Ability to manage competing demands from different customers, planning and prioritizing of incoming requests and projects.
  • Technical skills
  • After Hours Standby and Support
  • Weekends and public holidays: 08:00 – 23:00
  • Weekdays: 18:00 – 23:00
  • These skills are not a requirement, but will be beneficial
    • Physical Installation of WIFI and network systems
    • Installation, setup and troubleshooting of Windows 7 / 10 on user computers
    • Installation, setup and troubleshooting of Office365 on user computers.
    • Installation setup and troubleshooting of standard desktop applications.
    • Troubleshooting of basic desktop and printer issues
    • Troubleshooting of basic network and WIFI issues
    • Setup of technical documentation on support routines and procedures.
  • Our company is growing fast and we are looking for someone that is up to the challenge, and ready to do whatever it takes to deliver service and continuously improve systems and structures.

  • Salary will be R30 000 per month (CTC) including a company cell phone contract.

About company:

Serve IT is still a small company with a small number of employees. If you are looking for an 8-5 job, don't even apply. We will expect you to work several hours of unpaid overtime to get support cases solved. Many of our network installation projects will have to be completed in short space of time, and you will in many instances have to work over weekends and public holidays. There are many support systems and structures that still have to be developed and this will require a lot of dedication and hard work (even after hours) to get this done.
