Caiphus Chauke

Caiphus Chauke is the Head of Department for Economic Planning and Development at Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, wherein he is responsible for planning & implementation of the Ekurhuleni Aerotropolis programme. He has extensive experience in economic planning & development in the public service having served as Executive Director (City of Tshwane), Chief Director (Free State Department of Economic Affairs) and Director (Department of Trade and Industry. He has been at the forefront of facilitating economic relations with regional economies in West, Central & East Africa wherein he was involved in efforts to development trade, investment project origination & packaging; and economic cooperation. He is a recipient of the prestigious Nelson Mandela Scholarship for Leadership Development. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics (Vista); a Master of Science in Economic Management and Policy (Strathclyde); a Master’s in Development Studies (Free State) and a Master of Philosophy in Development Finance (Stellenbosch).
