My academic background is in biotechnology, obtaining a BSc degree at the University of Western Cape, South Africa. I hold 12 years’ experience in the field of plant biotechnology, working as research assistant at the Institute for Plant Biotechnology, which was based at Stellenbosch University. The research involved molecular biology, plant tissue culture as well as botany. I have participated in conducting GMO sugarcane plant trials, involving the maintenance and collection of sensitive plant samples, which were subsequently used for various molecular biology experiments. I am aware of the security practices related to GMO’s; however, I was not the designated person responsible for obtaining certification for their respective usage.
I’m currently working as a Flow Cytometry Technician at Enza Zaden SA, just outside Stellenbosch. I have experience in asset management and registry of experimental equipment and instruments. I also have experience in database management of consumables such as chemicals, PCR primers, bacterial stocks etc. I was also the designated first aid officer as well as the occupational health and safety officer. I am well mannered, kind-hearted, friendly, and optimistic. I am energetic and hard-working and believe I could be useful to this company, if given the opportunity.
Hoping you will consider my application favorably
