Iser Khanyile is a peer educator at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Howard College
Campus for HIV/AIDS Support Unit Programme. He has been actively involved since
February 2018. In 2019, he was elected as a Best Peer of the Year in Peer Education
Programme. His main responsibilities were to create awareness campaigns by providing
HIV/AIDS, STI’s and Tuberculosis (HAST) information and other health related issues to both
students and staff and one on one sessions. During vacation he was also, involve in outreach
program visiting High Schools and orphanage home to conduct health educational talks.
Moreover, he attended various trainings conducted by the Siyanqoba Beat It and Hope to
educate he has been and still an asset to the programme. Further, I am doing Bachelor of Social
Science, left with one semester to complete my degree.
