Maxine Edwards

I have been admitted as an attorney for 6 years. The first two years I worked in Mossel Bay, where I was responsible for my own client base. Thereafter, I received employment in Cape Town, which has always been a dream of mine.

I’m currently an attorney at Brooks & Luyt Inc, a law firm within CSS Credit Solutions, where I handle one of our top-performing clients.

My experience gained from my current role will have the most relevance to this job as our company mainly specializes in debt collecting for all the major financial institutions in South Africa.

We would receive the handovers directly from the client and in some cases, we need to instruct and liaise with attorney firms in other jurisdictions to act as our correspondents to attend to the issuing of the documents and follow up with them to ensure that the instructions are attended to timeously.

I am a hard worker, and I am able to work independently and in a team. I am great at drafting, doing research and comparing contradictory articles to come to a conclusion.

I can prioritise tasks and meet deadlines and I have great verbal and written communication skills. I am also detail-orientated with strong planning and organisational skills.
