ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

PIPING INSPECTOR
• Conducting the various Piping Quality Progress inspections and Hydro test activities on PLANT PIPING, STG’s, HRSG’s as per P&ID.
• Perform initial and in-process inspections of piping and welding, in accordance with established inspection and test plans and assigned witness, hold, and verification points.
• Review of plot plan, isometric drawing with corresponding with the P&ID.
• Knowledge in referring the standards like ANSI B 31.3, 31.4, 31.8, ASME B16.34, Section II, V, VIII, IX, AWS D1.1 and API 6D, 650, 1104 and SAES’s.
• Inspection of all Materials as per the Standard before start of work
• Ensure satisfactory identification of materials, proper preservation of fabrication spools, piping fittings, valves and piping specialties.
• Verify proper size and schedule of pipe, rating of flanges, fittings and Valves.
• Inspection of gaskets supports fittings and valves prior to line reinstatement acceptance as per latest drawing, standards and specifications.
• Involved for preparation of RFI for Client inspection and assist the Client inspector during this inspection.
• Coordinate with Engineering for the preparation of correct test packages and hydro test diagram and getting the approval from client.
• Line Inspection of erected piping before hydro testing and responsible for the creation of A & B punch list items.
• Make sure that the A punch items are closed before hydro test.
• Make sure that test equipments like manifold, pressure relief valves, Gauges are calibrated and certified.
• Preparing As-Built for modifications as per site condition.
• Inspect piping just before erection to verify that interior is clear of foreign materials. Check edge preparation and fit-ups to verify that areas to be welded are free of contaminants.
• Visual inspection of weld joints, Plant piping and preparing Punch List after installation.
• Reviewing Line history sheet and ensure that all required NDE examination shall be performed prior to final system hydro testing unless otherwise specified by engineering.
• Ensuring vents are open when filling and draining lines.
• Conduct/ Witness of Hydro Test, Pneumatic Test and Flushing; system lay-up both in and erection field.
• Making a re-instatement punch list and clearing the items.
• Witnessing of Flange joint assemblies and Bolt Torque.
• Ensure the Blinds are removed and correct rating gaskets are installed.
• Check flow direction arrows on valves; verify that the properly identified valves are installed in accordance with the flow diagram.
• Clear the punches during and after Hydro static, pneumatic & leak test of piping system.
• Verification of closed punch items and conduct walk through for each completed piping system prior to mechanical acceptance.
• Inspect various types of pipe supports according to design and drawing.
• Control of non-conformities issuance and propose corrective action, and investigate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Coordinate with clients/consultants, Vendor, PMT & PID while the inspection is being carried out and offer any clarification is required.
• Preparing and maintaining various QA/QC documents and final test packages.
• Preparation of daily and weekly welding/piping reports and all other necessary documents and attachments based on ITP and as per client requirement.

WELDING INSPECTOR
• Maintaining and reviewing of latest Project specification, Engineering Standards (SAES), Engineering Procedures (SAEP), ITP’S (SATIP), Check List’s (SAIC), and Drawings.
• Ensuring all incoming materials, filler materials and consumables are inspected and identified as per original Mill T.C for material traceability.
• Conducting and Witnessing Positive Material Inspection (PMI).
• Monitoring daily welding accomplishments and performing visual examinations before welding, during welding and after welding as per WPS.
• Witnessing and conducting the PQR and WQT as per ASME Sec IX, AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3 and API 1104.
• Familiar with welding process such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and SAW.
• Knowledge in referring the standards like ANSI B 31.3, 31.4, 31.8, ASME B16.34, Section II, V, VIII, IX, AWS D1.1 and API 6D, 620, 650, & 1104.
• Verification of Isometric drawings with respect to P& ID.
• Reviewing of approved WPS /PQR / Welder Qualification records.
• Check/ Monitoring calibration status of welding machines, inspection tools, all gauges and relief valves used for Pressure Testing.
• Monitoring of consumable storage, handling, packing and drying temperature as per project approved procedure and WPS.
• Inspection of gaskets supports fittings and valves prior to line reinstatement acceptance as per latest drawing, standards and specifications.
• Monitoring of Pre heat, Inter pass temperature and inter pass cleaning as per WPS.
• Inspecting joint configuration of fit up and Electrical characteristic as per WPS.
• Perform visual inspection of final weld profile during stage of assembly and erection and to check quality of work at every stage.
• Witness of alignment, orientation and dimensions of welded and installed Piping.
• Offering weld joints for NDT and witnessing all NDT activity (UT, RT, PT and MT) then approve NDT reports.
• Monitoring the welder’s performance and verifying repair procedure and supervised weld repairs those is defective and control.
• Monitoring PWHT and Hardness checking of final weld profile.
• Mechanical clearance of fabricated pipe spools, erected spools and structures.
• Control of non-conformities issuance and propose corrective action, and investigate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Coordinate with clients/consultants, Vendor, PMT & PID while the inspection is being carried out and offer any clarification is required.
• Preparing and maintaining various QA/QC documents and final test packages.
• Preparation of daily and weekly welding reports and all other necessary documents and attachments based on ITP and as per client requirement.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER
• Planning, Scheduling, Allocating and supervising all the Mechanical Works, organize permits when required, interacting with operations and other sections.
• Responsible for construction activities related to Mechanical jobs with maintaining the quality innovation policy of the company.
• Responsible for the installation of Plant equipments and Turbo Machineries such as Turbine, Turbine accessories, Compressor, Pumps, Fin Fan Coolers, Induced and Exhaust fan, Air Intake Filters, Generators, Couplings and Shafts.- Refer to ITP.
• Preparing weekly ahead detailed work schedule.
• Review of construction procedures, method statements, and construction As-built documents etc.
• Prepare the list of spares, tools and other material required for the operational jobs and issue the Purchase/Material requisitions for the Section Head approval.
• Implementation and monitoring of work and process as per drawing, procedures, and method statements.
• Direct monitoring, supervising and coordinate activities of the workers engaged in the fabrication and erection of equipment and pipelines.
• Responsible for installation of static equipments like pressure vessels, lube oil coolers, air intake filters, and FGT.
• Responsible for installation of rotating equipments like Turbine, Compressor, Centrifugal Pumps, Fans etc.
• Inspect the condition of rotating parts namely shaft, sleeve, impeller, coupling and stationary parts such as casing, stuffing box, distance piece and bearing housing.
• Handle responsibilities like repairing and rework of all plant and Turbo rotating equipments and other piping equipments.
• Responsible for fabrication and erection of all piping and structural works.
• Monitoring for clearing of punch item of text packages.
• Performed the tasks of all maintaining equipment records and prepared lists of equipments that are out of use.
• Responsible for ensuring all the assigned works are completed on time with total emphasis on Safety and Quality and ensuring Environmental requirements of the yard are strictly followed.
• Monitor and control incidents of non-compliance or non-conformance and propose corrective action, investigate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
