Staff complement of 15. After completion controlled and coordinated and managed the commissioning of the plant – mechanical, electrical and control and instrumentation departments. On site project coordinator for the Ash plant conveyor project. Controlled the Commissioning department budget of around R6 million a year. Operating department Safety coordinator. As Ash plant production manager (stand in for 4 years) controlled the day to day running of the plant ensuring safe and efficient operation and availability. Controlled the operations, and maintenance departments. (250 staff) Budget of R20 million a year. Carried out incident investigation regarding safety and plant breakdown incidents. Wrote reports and implemented changes arising from such reports together with departments concerned. Trained and advised operating staff in the safe and efficient operation of plant under their control. Chairman of various disciplinary hearings as well as sorting out industrial and human resources problems. Controlled plant shut downs projects for maintenance and ensured completion of projects within time and budget allocations. Commissioning/Re-commissioning of new as well as existing plant after outages or repairs, Mechanical, Electrical as well as Control and Instrumentation. Worked myself up through the entire Operating structure, Plant Operator, Senior Plant Operator, Assistant Shift Supervisor Units (panel operator) and Auxiliary Plant, Shift Supervisor Units and Auxiliary Plant.
