Data Analyst

Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to develop and deliver data-driven solutions that provide actionable business insights by analyzing raw data, applying statistical techniques, and using data visualization tools to support informed decision-making.

Requirments
Qualification and Experience:
  • Undergraduate (Bachelors) degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or Business Studies.
  • 35 years of experience in data analysis within an insurance environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong intellect and ability to think strategically.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Power BI for data visualization is required.
  • Ability to grasp and apply new concepts quickly.
  • An inquisitive and open mindsetopen to ongoing learning, growth, & development.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

Internal Process
  • Collaboration & Requirement Translation - partner with teams to understand their business challenges and translate them into targeted data analysis tasks.
  • Data Handling - extract, clean, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Statistical Evaluation - apply statistical techniques to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations within the data.
  • Data Model Design - create and maintain robust data models and databases to support business operations.
  • Insight Generation & Reporting - perform ad-hoc data analyses and generate reports that provide actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Data Visualization - utilize data visualization tools to present complex data in a clear and digestible format for business users.
  • Database Management - oversee and work with databases such as MSSQL and MySQL to support data analysis and storage requirements.
Client Services
  • Provide authoritative, expertise and advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the process of negotiating objective and realistic service level agreements, monitor appropriateness and recommend adjustments.
  • Define service practices which build rewarding relationships, encourage innovation and allow others to provide exceptional client service.
  • Deliver on service level agreements made with clients and internal and external stakeholders to ensure that client expectations are managed.
  • Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within the area of responsibility.
  • Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.
