Role Description

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be analytically minded, curious, and enthusiastic about data. You'll need to have experience using a variety of data tools and analysis methods to create information assets that can be consumed by both descriptive and advanced analysts. As a member of the SBI Customer Data Hub you'll be responsible for end-to-end tasks within the data analysis framework, working closely with business representatives, product owners, and other stakeholders to define and elicit requirements, analyze data, and assist developers in creating information. What will you do?
Key result areas
Data Preparation
- Ensure all data is of a high quality and is fit for purpose for easy interpretation by the business. This is achieved through data wrangling, data cleaning, data integration, data transformation, data profiling, data mapping, data quality assurance, data modelling, data governance, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data warehousing, data validation.
- Although not a key performance area the ability to do data analysis and visualisation for business consumption will support your application. This is achieved through data exploration, statistical analysis, predictive modelling, machine learning, data storytelling, dashboard design, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) creation, data mining, business intelligence.
- Provide a data analysis service to various stakeholders across the business to solve various business problems.
- This is achieved through high quality communication, collaboration, active listening, stakeholder management, project management, facilitation, presentation skills, requirements gathering, business analysis, problem-solving, critical thinking, and customer service.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric
- Bachelors degree (preferred) or related NQF 6 qualification (required) in a relevant field e.g. statistics, data or computer science, engineering.
- 4 - 6 years+ of experience in analytics, data modelling and data profiling (intermediate level)
- Knowledge of and experience with reporting and visualisation software, databases and querying
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
- Financial services experience is advantageous.
