Life Data Analyst

We are looking for a Life Data Analyst for a leading reinsurer based in Johannesburg. As an experienced Life insurance professional with at least 6 years' experience in the industry, you will be responsible for analysing and reporting on data content and quality, ensuring compliance with reinsurance treaty conditions and that it is fit for purpose for data users in other departments.

As the ideal candidate, you should have a degree in a numerate or analytical science such as Mathematics, Computer Science or Actuarial Science, with extensive experience in working as a SQL data analyst, BI, or related field.

You should also have a proven track record of delivering high-quality work within strict timelines, with the ability to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical terms. Additionally, you should have strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel (able to maintain complex spreadsheets) and MS SQL Server 2012 (or later).

Your main responsibilities will include liaising with internal/external clients, understanding data files and treaty rules, setting up regular processes of data receipt, cleaning, loading and reporting, as well as facilitating changes as user requirements change.
