PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The role of the Data Analyst will require the incumbent to access, review, and interpret data to meet the business challenges and requirements, which would ultimately impact on decision making, reporting, report structures and business validation to improve the quality of data throughout the business.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4) is essential
- Diploma or NQF Equivalent (Information Science/Computer Science/ Management Information Systems)
- 2-3 Years Data Analytics/Data Management required
- 1 Year Exposure to Mining Environment
- Interpersonal Skills.
- Creative and Analytical Thinking Skills
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access applications and SAP
- Data Mining and Data Visualisation
- Database Querying
- Interpersonal Skills and Report Writing Skills
- Broad knowledge of quality data management principles and methodologies
- Builds and maintains effective relationships with key partners and clients informs, influences and engages with key stakeholders around quality data management.
- Builds trust and credibility and manages relationships with internal network and external vendors and contacts to achieve high quality data management business results.
- Identifies data related issues through consultation with clients and evaluating data related procedures and processes to find opportunities for resolution and data quality improvements.
- Promotes an open and collaborative environment by encouraging the sharing of information and resources across boundaries in a data context.
- Ensures data links and flows between data sources and legacy systems is maintained.
- Identifies, analyses, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets using statistical techniques, and in some instances developing those techniques.
- Reports the results of their efforts along with relevant recommendations.
- Defines new data collection and management methodologies that add value to the business.
