The Data Architect & Team lead role would require a candidate to be able to move from technical guidance to hands-on implementation. Being comfortable in diverse and multi-disciplined teams is a team player, forward-thinking and adaptable. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to; evolving and directing the company's data strategy, and project management of tasks, resources and risk.
Key Qualification Criteria
- BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Microsoft-certified Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Able to use Architecture Design tools e.g. Sparx, Lucid or Visio
- 10+ years' experience building and running large-scale systems
- 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role for data-centric systems
- 5+ years' experience with technology development and delivery
- Ideal systems knowledge; ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Compute, containers, integration, storage, web and DevOps
- Ideal Database systems: MS SQL, MS SQL, non-relational DBs
Key Duties
- Design, implement and future-proof data solutions to meet the business needs
- Provide architecture artefacts by business and project requirements
- Conceptualise on-premises, cloud components, security, networking and monitoring solutions
- Migrate existing complex on-premises data solutions to cloud platforms
- Connect the business objectives with the technical vision
- Lead, manage and grow a team of data specialists viz. analysts, modellers, engineers
- Build a high-performing team to explore and grow new technology
- Provide leadership, knowledge-sharing and advisory services
- Understand security by design and principles for general security applications, integration, networking and storage
The right candidate must have the ability to communicate with business and technical audiences to produce collateral, suitable for multiple audience types. They will have an eye for technical innovation in a fast-paced and high-performing environment with the skill to take control and work autonomously.
