Job Description
The Data Visualization Specialist assists customers (and advisers) in understanding their financial life. They leverage data visualization techniques to simplify complex financial information, drive informed decision-making, and ultimately empower clients to take control of their financial futures. They oversee the entire process of creating visual analytical applications, from designing mock-ups and storyboards to delivering a fully functional final product
Key Focus Areas:
- Data analysis to understand data patterns and relationships.
- Conceptualises and architects creative ideas & concepts for different applications for clients and advisers.
- Collaborate with various team to create mock-ups and storyboards to plan the visualization design.
- Apply design principles to create visually appealing and easy-to-understand visualizations.
- Select and use appropriate visualization techniques (charts, graphs, maps, images) tools to rapidly generate impactful, interactive visualisations.
- Develop interactive dashboard that allow users to explore data and gain insights and understand complex trends and patterns .
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of visualizations by conducting rigorous testing.
- Drives exciting developments in the data visualization arena including virtual and augmented reality, immersive analytics, Smartphone-friendly data visualizations, creating visualizations from data sources increasing in both variety and complexity, and emerging cognitive frameworks.
- Redefines internal customer experiences by improving the effectiveness and accuracy of visualized data in capturing critical insights from business data through harnessing natural language processing abilities, AI and machine learning.
- Overall, good data visualization should simplify data. It should make analytical tasks, such as making comparisons or understanding causality, providing insights into a data set, exposing and recognizing patterns or relationships easier and more effective. The best uses of data visualization will have a balance between form and function. This meaning the visual representation of data should not only be visually attractive, but also informative.
- Degree /3 year Diploma in Graphic Design/ Data Science, Statistics
- Minimum of 3 5 years experience in a data visualisation role in an Analytics or Data Science team
- Experience in Data Visualisation software (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik etc.)
- Experience in MS Office suite (such as PowerPoint) and design tools (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Piktochart)
- Demonstrated experience in modern visualisation tools and techniques with a portfolio of examples
- A grasp of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles is important for creating user-friendly and intuitive dashboards and interfaces
- Familiarity with financial products that allows for the creation visualizations that are contextually relevant.
- Understanding of basic statistical concepts to choose appropriate visualization techniques and accurately represent data
- The ability to interpret data accurately and extract meaningful insights .
- The ability to tell a compelling story through data.
