Main Purpose
The Demand and Supply Planner will improve the accuracy and reliability of the Demand Plan through projection of the most accurate estimate of customer demand and manage exceptions to enhance the responsiveness of the organisation's Supply Chain in fulfilling customer demand. They will also build supply/ production plans respecting the agreed level of available capacity to ensure that finished goods are available with high freshness, at the right stock location to meet customer demand whilst minimizing cost
A day in the life of a Demand and Supply Planner:
As the successful candidate, a typical day will focus on:
- Consistently achieve sustainable Demand Plan Accuracy (DPA) improvement: (accuracy level and variability, bias balance)
- Implement improvements to Demand and Supply Planning processes and tools to deliver tangible benefits (e.g.: time savings, increased efficiencies etc)
- Work within commercial team in generation of accurate forecasts & demand plans for cluster both local and direct distributor markets
- Work with Regional team to implement SAS statistical forecast. Use Stat tools to establish baseline demand by customer by product category
- Consolidate generated numbers from MSR/MFR and share with Decision Support for Cluster 1 & 2 and maintain in SAP APO
- Engage marketing in building promotional plans and firming up uplift volumes. Capture in learning logs events & promotional trends and analyze impact on demand & supply plans.
- Drive NPDI process tasks for SC and align with the region to ensure timely launch of new products.
- IMS Planning: Analyze and evaluate the supply plan and net despatch requirements to satisfy customer needs taking into account the network complexity and the supply constraints. Responsible for 18 months production plans for the factory in the scope.
- Inventory Management: Balance the need for product availability versus the need to minimise costs of inventory to ensure optimum stocks of the right material in the right location.
- Exceptions management: Analyze exceptions, to take business decisions (based on priorities or after arbitration) and to adjust planning results accordingly. Establish production requirements for short and long term and to follow up production plans.
- Consistently achieve sustainable Customer Service Level for domestic and Inter-Market Supply (IMS) customers within the Working Capital and Freshness objectives by ensuring that the weekly planning process is executed on time
- Establish stock policies for Finished Goods. To do this for Inter Market Supply together with Planners of Receiving Markets. Periodically review the stock level of the domestic and the receiving markets to pro-actively look for solutions in case of deviations.
- Determine key issues with volume variance that may impact supply, challenge existing Logistics and Supply Planning processes and tools - implementing improvements to deliver tangible benefits (e.g.: time savings, increased efficiencies, etc.) - monitoring requirements evolution
- Analyse and effectively communicate relevant information - Highlighting all supply issues - Detailing impacts of proposed actions and related trade offs.Ensuring actions and Supply Plans are realistic and achievable In accordance with the Business Planning process
- Challenge manufacturing on regular basis to manage lot sizes, cycle times , to drive optimum FG inventory level. Also, to challenge and support Demand Planner (Domestic and IMS) to improve Demand Planning Accuracy
Degree in Supply Chain/Commercial Degree/Industrial Engineering
Have experience with SAP
Must have strong excel skills
Must have strong analytical and numerical skills
Minimum 2 Years Or More Relevant Experience
Exceptional communication skills in a high-level business setting
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence other
System planning experience advantageous
