Montana Skills Development Agency is currently looking for demi chef de partie (2 positions available) to fill the available position living in the area of Randburg, Johannesburg.
Job requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience in the same or similar position (i.e. Commis Chef for at least 3 years and 2 years as a Demi CDP) within a five or four star hotel (excluding any intern or student positions)
- Minimum age is 25 years old.
- Must have hotel experience.
- City and Guilds qualification or something similar
- Must have a strong cooking background and have a creative flair in all aspects of food preparation
- Must be strong in hygiene control and safety procedures in the kitchen
- Must be familiar with the costing and control of food and relevant stock
- Must have a good timekeeping record
- Must have good communication skills at all levels
- Must work well under pressure
- Must be innovative
- Must be honest and reliable
- Must be able to maintain quality and set standards
Also available position: night chef de partie (New, as an alternative to the abovementioned. If we can find a night chef, we can promote to the abovementioned positions)
Job requirements:
- Salary: R 7 500.00 to R 9 000.00 depending on experience
- Formal Chef Qualification
- Minimum 2 years as a Night CDP in a 5/4 star kitchen.
- Main purpose and key responsibilities:· Assists in the overseeing and directing of all aspects of the Kitchen during a night shift.
- To assist the Executive Chef in the kitchen operation and ensure the company’s reputation for food quality is maintained at all times.
- To plan, prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Executive and/or Sous Chef.
- To carry out the smooth and efficient running of your section as appropriate.
- Must have a strong cooking background in all aspects of food preparation.
- Must be strong in hygiene control and safety procedures in the kitchen
- Must be familiar with the costing and control of food and relevant stock
- Must have good communication skills at all levels
- Good knowledge of products
- Sound knowledge of kitchen cookery methods
- Must be willing to work night shifts (between 22:00 and 08:00)
- Must be innovative
- Must be honest and reliable
- Must be able to maintain quality and set standards
