DEPARTMENTAL ADMINISTRATOR A (PEROMNES POST LEVEL 9)

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to render a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service which includes the following:
  • Secretarial tasks for director and other personnel;
  • Departmental, office and facility administration;
  • Financial administration of the CAAC and individual staff members' research projects ;
  • Administrative duties related to postgraduate programmes, departmental research as well as international research contracts; organizing workshops in person, online and hybrid.
  • Programme liaison with students, industry partners, organisations for persons with disabilities and other academic institutions.
Minimum Requirements
  • A three - year national diploma in office administration or a secretarial field from an accredited institution with three years experience in administrative and/ or secretarial duties that includes office administration, secretarial experience, and financial administration; OR
  • Grade 12 with five years experience as stated above;
  • Experience of working in an environment with people with disabilities and knowledge of disability etiquette;
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office: Word (advanced); PowerPoint (intermediate) Excel (intermediate) and Publisher (basic).
Required Competencies (skills, Knowledge And Behavioural Attributes)
  • Skilled in online meeting platforms;
  • Organising skills and the ability to work independently under pressure;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Appropriate language and communication skills.
Added Advantages And Preferences
  • A relevant three-year degree;
  • Skilled in the use of University Management Platforms e.g PeopleSoft;
  • Experience within a higher education or academic environment
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbents level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium .
