Responsibilities
- Secretarial tasks for head of department and other personnel
- Departmental and office administration.
- Administrative duties related to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as departmental research programmes
- Liaison with students, industry partners and other academic institutions.
- Organisation of conferences and other events
- On-going maintenance of documentation for quality standards and accreditation visits
- Grade 12 with 5 years experience or
- National Diploma in Office Administration / Secretarial field / Marketing or related field, with 3 years experience
- At least three or five years of relevant experience in office administration, secretarial duties.
- Very good communication skills (especially written)
- Very good attention to detail
- Skill in the use of specific computer-based systems, such as such as PeopleSoft and Click-UP, web-page development
- Experience at a tertiary environment, preferably an engineering environment.
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbents level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED / UMVUZO medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
